Parking Meter Pilot Program

New Regulations Effective on Monday, December 9, 2013

Pay Station on Market Street

Pay Station on Market Street

The City of Poughkeepsie recently installed three Pay Stations on Market Street as part of the Parking Meter Pilot Program. The intent of the pilot program is to assess the functionality of the parking meter pay stations prior to expanding the program to the downtown area.

A metered parking zone has been established on Market Street, between Church Street and Main Street. The zone includes all parking spaces on the East side of Market Street. The regulations for the metered zone will take effect on Monday, December 9, 2013. The parking zone is active Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm and Saturdays 9:00am to 3:00pm. The parking fees for this zone are $.50 for 15 minutes, $1.00 for 30 minutes, and $1.50 per hour. Pay stations are located in front of 17 Market Street, 31 Market Street, and 53 Market Street.

To pay the parking fee, follow the directions on the Pay Station. Cash, credit cards, and debit cards are accepted. Once your transaction is complete, simply place your ticket on the drivers-side dashboard of your vehicle, face up.  Failure to pay the parking fee or correctly display the parking ticket will result in a fine.
