The Purchasing Agent coordinates the procurement of goods and services for the City. Working within the requirements set forth in General Municipal Law, Sections 103 and 104B, purchase requests are evaluated to determine the appropriate means for acquisition at the best price available. The process is accomplished by a number of different methods, from a straight purchase to price quotes, formal bids and requests for proposals.
The City of Poughkeepsie is interested in increasing vendor interest and participation in our procurement program. To that end, information, detailed specifications and bid packages are posted on the HVMPG System and vendors may access this information by clicking HERE or by calling the Purchasing Department at (845) 451-4048.
