Candlelight Vigil for Detective Falcone

The Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association will hold a candlelight vigil for Detective Falcone on Saturday, February 18, 2012 beginning at 7 p.m. Attendees will assemble on Columbus Drive adjacent to the Police Station.

Poughkeepsie Entrance Sign Vandalized – Police Seek Information

Between 1/29/12 at approximately 9:00pm and 1/31/12 at approximately 2:45pm the “POUGHKEEPSIE” sign located on Church Street just east of the Mid-Hudson Bridge was vandalized by a person(s) yet unknown. The sign consists of elevated blue letters outlined in white which are lit at night and welcomes motorists as they enter the City. Each of the elevated letters was torn from their metal anchored posts and knocked to the ground remaining connected only by the electrical wiring.

The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department is seeking information which would lead to the identification of a suspect(s). We are also seeking information from anyone who may have seen anyone in the area during the times listed above.

Anyone with information should contact the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department Detective Division at (845) 451-4142, Detective Bartolotti who is the lead Detective at (845) 451-4149 or the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department Tip Line at (845) 451-7577. All calls will be kept confidential.

Request for Proposals – Professional Planning Consultant Services

Proposals are sought and invited by the City of Poughkeepsie Building Department for professional planning and consulting services. The intent of the Request For Proposal (RFP) is to communicate the City’s requirements and to provide potential vendors with sufficient information to enable them to prepare responses to meet the needs of the City.

Proposals will be received by the City Chamberlain until 4:00 p.m. on February 10, 2012. All proposals must be in a sealed envelope and clearly marked “Response to RFP for Professional Planning Consulting Services”.

Copies of the RFP may be obtained from the office of the City Chamberlain or online at www.cityofpoughkeepsie.com. No proposal will be accepted unless all portions are submitted for in accordance with the RFP including a Non-Collusive Affidavit.

The City of Poughkeepsie expressly reserves the right to waive any irregularities in a particular proposal, or to accept any proposal or to reject any and all proposals, or to award on any or all items, as the interest of the City of Poughkeepsie may require.

No proposer may withdraw his/her/its proposal within one hundred eighty (180) days after the actual deadline for the RFP submission.

This RFP is by order of John C. Tkazyik, Mayor and Gary E. Beck, Jr., Building Inspector.
