About
The purpose of this site is to help guide visitors and City residents to the many events taking place during the Walkway Over the Hudson Grand Opening Celebration. Please click on the 3 tabs above the map for additional event locations and parking information.
Free parking will be available during the events at select City of Poughkeepsie parking facilities (see map above for locations). A free shuttle will also be making stops at all parking facilities and event locations on Friday and Saturday.

Friday :: October 2, 2009 :: 7 - 10 pm
Reminder: The Walkway Over the Hudson will open to the general public on Saturday, October 3rd at 3pm.
Out of the Shadows: The Grand Illumination of the Walkway Over the Hudson
The evening's events will include:
- River of Light Promenade (7:00 pm)
- 1,000 Points of Light Lantern Release (after promenade)
- Light Exhibition on the Mid-Hudson Bridge
- Moon Glow Hot Air Balloon (in Waryas Park)
- JJ Harvey Illuminated Fire Boat (all evening)
- Fireworks between the Walkway Over the Hudson bridge and Mid-Hudson bridge (approx. 8pm)
The best viewing for this event will be Waryas Park in Poughkeepsie (1 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601) and Oakes Road in Highland. For additional information about the event, please visit: www.walkway.org
