City Releases 2022 Community Development Block Grant Application

The City has released its 2022 Community Development Block Grant application. All City of Poughkeepsie public service nonprofit agencies are encouraged to submit an application to the Office of Social Development. The application can be located on the City’s website under Community Development, Community Development Block Grant, Helpful Documents.

The Community Development Block Grant is a federally funded formula-based grant that is allocated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to eligible cities. The Community Development Block Grant provides funds to improve the quality-of-life of residents through the planning and development of municipal infrastructure and public amenities. This grant award allows the City to carry out a wide range of community development activities directed towards program administration, city infrastructure, demolition and revitalization of city neighborhoods, rehabilitation of existing housing, homelessness and homeless prevention, youth services, health services, economic development, and providing community facilities and services.
