Poughkeepsie City School District Superintendent Dr. Eric Jay Rosser and City of Poughkeepsie Mayor Rob Rolison, co-chairs of the Poughkeepsie Children’s Cabinet, will present to the New York State Board of Regents about the cabinet at the Regents meeting on Feb. 15.
Dr. Rosser and Mayor Rolison formed the cabinet to develop a shared vision and cradle-to-career path for child growth in the city.
Chancellor Lester Young and Regent Fran Wills sat in on a virtual Poughkeepsie Children’s Cabinet meeting in December and were so impressed with the concept and work being done, that Young invited the group to present to the entire Board of Regents.
“What I saw this morning has the potential to be the statewide model of how to respond to the needs of children and families,” Young said after the December meeting.
The cabinet presentation by Dr. Rosser and Mayor Rolison will take place at 9 a.m. Tuesday, February 15 and can be viewed at https://www.regents.nysed.gov/meetings. The presentation will be available for replay on the Regents site afterward.
