City officials have released a comprehensive study that highlights the challenges and opportunities it is facing regarding recent housing trends.
The report was prepared by Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress, a not-for-profit policy, planning, advocacy and research organization.
The report includes background information, recent activities in the housing market, and strategies and recommendations ranging from increasing density across the city to developing new homeownership opportunities and making other investments.
The study included conversations with residents and developers, including three community visioning workshops. Information from the report also will aid the city as it continues its progress on updating its comprehensive plan and zoning codes under the “PK4Keeps” project.
Hard copies also are available for review at the City Chamberlain's Office, City Hall, First Floor, 62 Civic Center Plaza, Poughkeepsie and at the reference desks at the Adriance Memorial Library. 93 Market Street, Poughkeepsie, and the Boardman Road Branch Library, 141 Boardman Road, Poughkeepsie,
