The Mayor and Common Council have named members to the city’s Poughkeepsie Salary Review Commission.
Under the new City Charter, adopted by voter referendum in November 2016, there will be a Salary Review Commission every four years to make recommendations to the Mayor and Common Council regarding salaries for elected officials.
The Salary Review Commission includes seven members. Three are appointed by the Mayor, three are appointed by the Common Council, and one is elected by the members of the Commission at their first meeting, which will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Common Council Chambers, City Hall, Third Floor.
The mayor has appointed Mario Johnson, Kenneth Dondero, and Demaj Ffreind. The Common Council has appointed Laura Forman, Jasmaine Clay and Tamoya Norwood.
The commission will make their recommendations to the Common Council, and the new salary levels will then be established by a majority vote of the Common Council.
